In conflict with the major carriers' ambitions, India plans to establish a national shipping company. Bharat Container Line will start with 100 vessels, built in collaboration with oil refiners and the Shipping Corporation of India. This initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign carriers and enhance the country's maritime capabilities.
