Singapore has emerged as a hub for hull cleaning using advanced robots. ECOsubsea introduced a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) that cleaned a Capesize bulk carrier in just four hours, significantly faster than traditional methods. This innovation, praised for its speed and safety, aligns with sustainability goals. The ROV can operate in strong currents, reducing risks to personnel and increasing fuel efficiency. ECOsubsea plans to expand its ROV network globally. Meanwhile, Neptune Robotics has expanded into Singapore with its AI-controlled robots, aiming to clean 800 vessels in the next year, enhancing service along key shipping routes.
