Two bulk carriers collided in the Yangtze River, resulting in a spill of approximately nine tonnes of fuel oil. No injuries were reported, and the Yangze 22 and Vega Dream vessels are stable. Yangze 22 is anchored at Hengsha East Anchorage and Vega Dream is moored at Baoshan North Anchorage. The Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, alongside other entities, is leading clean-up efforts, and the spillage is reported to be under control. Investigations indicate the collision occurred during a port-side manoeuvre by Yangze 22. Assessments of damage are ongoing.
